Garsdon
All Saints, Garsdon
All Saints covers the parish of Garsdon, 4 miles to the east of Malmesbury in North Wiltshire.
The church sits on a hill, surrounded by fields, with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. Although it has a medieval tower, it was extensively rebuilt in about 1850. A peal of tubular bells hang in the tower. The church seats about 80 people.
The church has connections with the Washington Family and contains the Washington Memorials and some 17th century plate. Garsdon is Saxon for Green Hill, and by association, a Woodbridge Group Good Friday service and outside crucifixion drama takes place each Easter.
In 2021 we reordered the interior of the church, adding a toilet, storage and most importantly a hospitality area. This work earned us a 2022 Diocese of Bristol DAC Award for the quality of the project.
In March 2023 we achieved the A Rocha UK Bronze Eco Church award and we are now making progress towards the Silver award.
