Calm and Bright – Christmas 2024
As I write this article in mid November we have had a prolonged period of calm and largely dry weather. It’s also been incredibly dull as a blanket of cloud has resulted in the country getting less than half an hour of sunlight in an 11 day period. Calm but not so bright. When the sunshine did break thorough briefly a couple of days ago it was like seeing an old friend again. We’ve had more moonlight than direct sunlight recently, and I suspect that it is moonlight that the carol ‘Silent Night’ refers to. Clara and the Welsh Cathedrals – coming soon! We’re packing Clara back up and heading out on the next adventure – the Welsh (Anglican) Cathedrals: Newport, Brecon, St Asaph, Bangor, St David’s and Llandaff (not quite Cardiff!). Last time it was as a sabbatical, this time it’s our holiday, so while I’ll be posting stuff soon I’m not planning on doing it as we go. I’ll be writing it up while it’s fresh, but I’ll also be enjoying my time off!
